Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that midfielder Thomas Partey will be out of action for three rounds due to an ankle injury.
The Ghana international sustained the injury during Arsenal's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, and is expected to miss the club's upcoming matches against Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid last summer, and has made 48 appearances for the Gunners so far this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
He was part of the team that won the Europa League title last season, and has also featured in several important games for his country, including their victorious run at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.
However, it is hoped that Partey can make a full recovery and return to the squad as soon as possible. In the meantime, Arsenal will need to find a replacement for him in their midfield, which could potentially include some of the younger players in the squad, such as Bukayo Saka or Emile Smith Rowe.
